CompuScholar: Web Design

NOTE: This is a 1 year subscription from the time of installation for only 1 student.

The CompuScholar Web Design course teaches students how to create their own web pages using HTML and CSS.  Available on Windows , Mac , Chromebooks, and tablets.

This course covers fundamental web design skills such as:

• Basic web site layout
• HTML5 symbols and elements
• Text styles
• Hyperlinks and navigation bars
• CSS effects, spacing and positioning
• Graphics and image editing
• Tables
• Page design principles
• Dynamic menus
• Embedded audio and video
• JavaScript and jQuery

Student Work:

• All lesson quizzes and chapter tests are auto-graded by our system. Students will complete hands-on coding projects in every chapter, and these projects are mostly auto-graded by our system.
• Students will complete a variety of fun web pages with professional features throughout the course. They will also have an opportunity to create their own unique project at the end of the second semester.

This new 2026 edition of Web Design will still teach the same concepts and skills, and it will still cover the same state requirements. They updated the instructional materials where needed (sequence and content) for better flow and inclusion of current web design trends. In addition…

• Online IDE – Students will work in an online IDE, directly in the web browser, like their C#, Java, and Python Programming classes. They no longer need to use external text editors or development environments (though they can, if desired).
• Cloud Storage – Student work is automatically saved to the publisher’s cloud and is available for teacher inspection without any upload steps.
• Automatic Error Checking – The online IDE contains automatic error-checking, color syntax highlighting, and other features.
• Chapter-Level Projects – Each lesson and chapter has all-new “Work with Me” exercises and standalone Chapter Activity projects that do not rely on prior work.
• AUTOMATIC GRADING – Student work is now auto-graded, just like their Python, C#, and Java courses!
