Our Community

What is a community? How does a community satisfy the needs of its members?

This easy-to-follow activity book emphasizes the social and physical needs of citizens in a community and relates those concepts to the everyday lives of primary students. The role of cooperation, rules and responsibility are highlighted within these four sections: Community Needs, Community Places, Community Workers, and Living and Working together.

Our Community helps primary students understand the connections between human needs, individual responsibilities and social relationships in a community. The unique Teacher Zone at the bottom of each page defines important terms, clarifies objectives and suggests lesson introductions and extensions.
