Sequential Spelling Level 7 Set

Sequential Spelling is AVKO's premiere seven level spelling program for the teaching of the patterns of English spelling within seven normal public school years. The name AVKO comes from Audio, Visual, Kinesthetic, & Oral, a multi-sensory approach. This program teaches spelling not based on lists of words to be memorized but by seeing and learning spelling patterns within words. The words are grouped by patterns not grade levels so everyone should start at Book 1. This program is especially useful for those children who do not do well with the standard textbook approach.

Level Seven consists of 168 daily lessons totaling just under 4,100 words. It begins with the word family "uce" and ends with the word families "ity" and "ive". NOTE: LEVEL 7 CONTAINS MANY NON ENGLISH WORDS WHICH ARE USED IN THEIR FOREIGN FORMS. A PRONUNCIATION GUIDE IS PROVIDED.

Level Seven is normally undertaken by 12 - 13-year-olds. Older children who have struggled or who are coming into Sequential Spelling from another program sometimes begin here. Please see the Placement Test to determine if this level is right for your student. This work is commonly used for rehabilitative work and it is not uncommon for teenagers to begin here.
