The Grade 5 Complete DVD with Books Kit includes these courses:

450429 – Heritage Studies 5 DVD with Books 4Ed covers American history completely, beginning with the birth of America and ending with President Obama, addressing current world issues along the way.

468157 – Science 5 DVD with Books 4Ed teaches students to think about science in light of the Creation Mandate. Students learn about minerals, fossils, matter, light, weather, ecosystems, and the human body. Students begin to appreciate the Creator as well as their own role in the world.

450411 – English 5 DVD with Books 2Ed continues the grammatical study of sentences, nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and reference skills.

450478 – Spelling 5 DVD with Books 2Ed covers both reliable spelling patterns and irregular words. Your student will learn word meanings, effective proofreading techniques, and basic dictionary skills while engaging in meaningful writing exercises.

450452 – Reading 5 DVD with Books 3Ed strengthens a student’s reading, higher-level thinking skills, and critical reasoning skills.

453613 – Math 5 DVD with Books 4Ed emphasizes the understanding of subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions through the use of manipulatives.

450437 – Handwriting 5 DVD with Books 2Ed contains a variety of activities centered on the theme “Writing Around the World.”

The printed parent guides for Grade 5 and above include tests and quizzes and corresponding answer keys. Test packets sold with textbook kits are not compatible with tests used in video courses.

Grade 5 Scheduling Information: 180 days of work in Science 5, Reading 5, Heritage Studies 5, Math 5, and Spelling 5, 160 days of work in English 5, and 110 days of work in Handwriting 5.
Average daily video time: 2 hours and 5 minutes.
