In this second book in the series, your student will work independently, writing in this student book. The special lay-flat binding makes it a delight to use. The book could also be used with teacher guidance as the student answers orally.

Your student will grow in faith with these weekly 15-minute Bible study lessons that can be completed independently or with the help of the teacher. These studies guide your student to

  • take on the role of a reporter covering the action in Mark;
  • understand and apply the timeless truths in The Sermon on the Mount;
  • grasp the layout, contents, and meaning of The Tabernacle.

Bible Mastery Moments in each lesson build your student’s familiarity with the Bible itself as they guide your student to memorize the order of the books of the New Testament.

Series Overview:

  • The In the Word series is divided into three levels: Beginner, Moderate, and Advanced. If your student has not studied the Bible before, we recommend starting with the Beginner level. If your student has some previous experience with Bible study, we suggest looking at the sample for your student’s grade level to determine if the difficulty is appropriate. The books are intentionally written so that even Book 1 will be engaging for an adult who is just starting out with Bible study.
    • Beginner Level – Books 1 to 4 – designed for grades 3 and up
    • Moderate Level – Books 5 to 7 – designed for grades 7 and up
    • Advanced Level – Books 8 to 10 – designed for grades 10 and up
  • The In the Word series helps students gain strong Biblical literacy and develop personal Bible study skills. The lessons are designed to guide students step by step as they learn how to study the Bible for themselves. The series begins at a level appropriate for 3rd grade and up, with enough depth that adults new to the Bible can learn from and enjoy any of these studies. As the series progresses, more Bible study methods are learned and practiced, setting students up for lifelong personal Bible study.
  • Use as a standalone study or as a complement to the Bible history lessons in The Story of God and His People. Give your students a firm foundation of Bible study skills that will enrich their faith and deepen their confidence and understanding of Scripture.

Remember, the goal of Bible study is to grow in becoming a student of God’s Word. While the publisher has provided suggested grades for covering all 10 books in grades 3–12, it’s best to start where your student is at. The In the Word series is designed to be used by Bible students of any age, even adults, so books your student doesn’t cover in your home school can be completed after graduation if desired!
